The 70th Anniversary of the Towns County Lions Club will be celebrated Saturday, April 10th at McConnell Memorial Baptist Family Life Center, located just to the rear of their Worship Center in downtown Hiawassee. Every Club member is urged to attend and invite guests. The festivities start at 6 PM. The cost is a reasonable $20 per person. The Guest speaker is Past International President James 'Jim' Erwin of Albany, GA. Please call Lion Myers Banister, PID, OR Secretary Julie Payne, with your reservations. The caterer must be notified by April 1, so cut off date is March 31.

Next Club Meeting is March 23, 2010 6:00 P.M. at the Anderson Music Hall at the Fairgrounds. The program is Young Harris College President Dr. Cathy Cox.


At the District 18-D Convention held Sunday, March 14th, Towns County Lions Club President was elected 1st Vice Governor for District 18-D. Lion Ron Bennetti from Dawsonville was elected District Governor and Lion Sweat from the Dawsonville Club was elected 2nd Vice District Governor. Lions Ralph Grady, Leonard McConnell and Gerry Gutenstein attended along with PID Myers Banister and 2nd VDG Ken Fuller.
